I am here: Surrounded by acres of lush vineyards, the smell of lemon blossoms fresh in the air, living alongside llamas, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats. I am feeding my family from organic in-ground vegetable gardens and enjoying a 360 degree view of the beautiful Napa Valley. Once my dream, my safe place, has unfolded into my reality.
In Chile there is a saying,"sonar es gratis" (to dream is free)- a mindset that I wholeheartedly embraced from the moment I heard it. Some might call me a dreamer... conjuring up fantastic scenarios, seemingly farfetched. However- I believe that if we don’t dare to dream big, our dreams don’t stand a chance.
Certainly, it can take time to realize a dream. We had a lot of false starts before making this one real. We wanted to leave a legacy for our children and our future grandchildren. A piece of land that would represent all the cultures and worlds we embrace, and for the children to feel part of creating something beautiful that they can feel proud of as well.
As I sit writing this post, I feel blessed and proud of our journey - and so excited to reveal the completed vision one day soon. Until then, I hope you will enjoy the slow evolution of our farm, La Ferme, and dare to dream.
